The Birbhouse is a one-person team (with a bus factor of 2) maintaining infrastructure for individuals and their businesses. Currently, the following services are offered :

The Birbhouse is paid for entirely out of pocket — you will never be required to pay for any services that are provided. You can view fiscal reports relating to The Birbhouse here. There are no plans to shut down any services or The Birbhouse anytime in the near future. If you decide that you want to support The Birbhouse outside of word-of-mouth, you can view fiscal support methods here.

Updates

• You can now use .IS domains with DNS using loon and osprey nameservers associated with BB5871-IS. (2025-01-21)
• Plans to retire quetzal due to costs are underway. (2025-01-05)
• All DNS operations are now secured using TSIG with HMAC-SHA512 algorithims instead of ACLs and/or HMAC-SHA256. (2024-12-14)
• Security updates are now on a fixed schedule. You can reasonably expect downtime every Friday around 20:00 UTC (2024-11-19)
• DNSSEC is now available for non-essential domains. You can request DNSSEC on your domain by reaching out. (2024-11-12)
